CLEARING ER45 EAST LONGDON

Yesterday we were asked by a walk leader to clear a fallen ‘bush’ blocking ER45 in East Langdon for a group walk on 22nd September. If we had been unable to attend, they would have had to divert.

Not a bush after all. The path was completely impassable. It took us 2 hours this afternoon to clear two large tree branches heavily covered in ivy, both partially attached to the tree and at serious risk of falling down. All cleared with hand tools, bow saws, loppers and physical effort. We are attaching the photos of the work progression from start to completion. Another popular scenic path with ongoing connections restored to the network.

It always feels good to see the difference that a couple of hours volunteering can make.

Photos attached of the work progression from our arrival to departure. We think they represent good publicity for the work that volunteers like us carry out on a regular basis for the benefit of all walkers.
